The cARTel, Dubai’s only conceptual fashion boutique specialising in avant garde wearable “art”pieces celebrates the Islamic tradition of Ramadan by hosting a Night of Style: A Ramadan Edition.
It was a night where the talent of reputable local designers including KBT Koncept, Katya Kuvtonovich, Amber Feroz, Hessa Falasi and Slouchy’z were able to showcase their exclusive creations inspired by the holy month and the Islamic woman’s conventional abaya in the edgy conceptual space of the cARTel.
In addition to offering Dubai’s Ramadan must haves, guests were openly invited to witness local celebrities being styled by the designers, makeup tutorials by the MAC makeup team as well as have the chance to personally meet and mingle with the designers themselves.
As the night concluded for guests, each received a bag full of goodies that consisted of a cARTel chocolate treat and MAC makeup products. It was a great night that creatively and respectfully celebrated the culture of the Middle East and its growing contemporary fashion.
Remember those cute (but slightly off-the-wall) ads by Evian last year that showed someone with their ‘baby’ representation on their t-shirt? A new version has just been announced by the water brand, which will be directed by photographer Nathaniel Goldberg, who’s shot celebs like Karolina Kurkova and Hillary Duff.
The new campaign will feature a series of portraits expressing how we ‘live young’, showcases portraits in action, at the office, in the subway, at a health club or on a shopping spree. The baby decals adapt their little bodies to fit every situation, and Evian’s branding has also received a makeover.
Launched in cities like Paris, New York City, London and Tokyo, the campaign has also landed in Dubai, where you can get involved at special campaign stands on The Walk, JBR at Mall of the Emirates. Participate in the ‘snap and dine’ competition and you could win a ‘live young’ dinner! You can even buy on of the new t-shirts, featuring the Evian babies, at Boutique 1, Mall of the Emirates and The Walk, JBR, for Dhs200.
